[Erina has been decidedly perfuctory today. A kiss on the nose in the morning, but going about her day at the school and her other things quite without even wishing her husband so much as a happy birthday.

Perhaps, perhaps she has forgotten? Very unlike her, but with all the things going on, not unlikely.

She comes home that evening with a thin, cardboard box in one hand, a few inches tall and bearing a friendly little sticker from Loaves of Love, and a gift wrapped in dark blue paper, tied with a red bow in the other.]

[There's almost certainly a surprise, but admittedly with the 4th being the day it is in Ryslig, he's a bit distracted. Erina comes home to find him quite unresponsive, as if he's not noticed her entering.

This is in fact because he hasn't, his ears are full of cotton, quite literally. All that wailing in the air, Erina!!

Best come and prod his shoulder perhaps.]

[Erina frowns at the cotton in his ears. Of course, that wailing is very distressing in its own way, but it will pass... soon.

[HE IS BEING POLITE NOW. HE PROMISES.] I do indeed, though it is admittedly rather difficult at times! Monsters are quite a lot stronger than the typical man unfortunately, and any proper punching sandbag is hardly proper now. I've made do by wrapping my hands in padding and striking stone, actually.

[ Jonathan will revive to find himself in a comfortable bedroom - small, with the bed in one corner, a desk and chair in another, then a dresser in the third and a door taking up the final corner. There's enough space that it's closer to "cozy" than "cramped", even for a fellow of Jonathan's size. There are no windows, with only the desk lamp illuminating the room. Also on the desk is a small snowglobe, which appears to contain a miniature scene of an embracing shade and harpy (one with large, distinctively-colorful wings, hinting as to whose place this might be).

Should Jonathan venture out through the door, he'll find himself in the kitchen/living area of a 1990's Japanese-style apartment, with the kitchen cupboards and appliances along one wall and a kotatsu set up in the middle of the room. While its heating element is currently switched off (it's summer!) the resident harpy is seated at it anyway, his thin bird legs folded neatly beneath him. The Ring-Spirit appears to have been absently flipping through a book, though he loses interest in it as soon as he spots Jonathan. ]

Wondered when you'd revive. Want anything? I've got some snacks and stuff in here now.

[ This room also lacks windows, though it's well-lit by light fixtures. ]

[Jonathan also, it appears, revives in a completely different body. There's actually a brief yelp that Ring-Spirit might have heard heralding this; the spectral thing stumbling out into the room and soon looking around with relative wonder, even as the door he opened too come in swings right through him.] Oh-!

Richard! So this is how that matter of protection operates then..? I must say it's a lovely flat you've found for yourself here...Erm.

[He looks at himself.] I don't suppose this matter of changing species is related? Or perhaps the crash threw off Mana's quest...

[The shade, largely a cloud of semi-humanoid haze with a crystal clear head, winces.] I don't wish to turn down your offer, but I'm rather worried about if things won't simply pass through me at this point.

[ Indeed, the Ring-Spirit frowns as soon as he processes what he's seeing; his brows knit, perplexed. ]

Mn, no, reviving here shouldn't have changed your monster type... I had heard about Mana's quests going weird sometimes...

[ Very strange, that Jonathan's just randomly a shade now! ]

[ He has to admit he's very curious as to what could have gone wrong here... but if Jonathan doesn't feel inclined to share, he won't press. It's not exactly vital information, nor his business.

He gets up to go rummage through the kitchen area's cupboards. ]

We could test with crackers? Or something else simple enough to sweep up if it does fall through you. I don't recall Ryou ever having trouble with eating - but I suppose every shade has different strengths and weaknesses.

I wished to be able to quickly inform those on the surface of any occurrences should something go awry- however, [he adds, frowning,] I don't believe either of us accounted for actual death...

Oh- yes, crackers should surely be fine- if there's trouble at all then there shouldn't be time for them to be anything less than dry I would think. The most I can say I ever witnessed Ryou having trouble with perhaps was holding the mug during a particular crisis...Hopefully then, it should be much the same.

[Pucci's not lying when he says give him about an hour. And the man is always prompt about getting to places on time. Which is precisely why JoJo can expect a knock on his door about a minute before the hour mark has hit.

The priest garb has been changed out for simple slacks, a deep navy dress shirt, and shoes. Which... well, at least he looks mostly human enough even while out like this. It's fine, he's fine.

Even if he's extremely curious to see this man in the flesh after hearing many a story about him.

There is first a rapid thudding that speaks of small feet- accompanied by the tell tale quiet 'whooo'-ing of a curious dog.

There is then-] Oh- Athena, come now, it's hardly polite to crowd a guest before he's even entered..!

[And the door opens.

Jonathan as he stated, is temporarily a Shade. He'll be in that state until the 4th of September, and so for now this is what Pucci gets. From the neck down, his body is indistinct- one might make out pants perhaps, the shape of the torso, so on, but it's faded. Hazy.

(As if someone took it, perhaps.)

The face however- in a number of decades, add mischief and trickery and that face would be that of Joseph's own; Jonathan however has a much softer, kinder smile, and with so clear a head not even the pale blue glow of his eyes can throw things off. Shades are meant to be terrible, vengeful things-

[He greets, offering a hand to shake and then stepping back once the initial pleasantry is out of the way.] I do apologize for how odd an entry this must certainly be- the prior owners acquired an expansion from Mana I was told, and it had a unique effect upon the structure!

[It's been... quite a bit since he's dealt with a dog that isn't one of the prison hounds, but it's almost a welcomed thing that it's not one of those. But he's patient at the door, blinking slowly once he sees the man in all his glory.

Or, well, shaded glory that he can make out this way. Hazy and the lack of a body, almost, is an irony that isn't lost on him. The face, the expression, it... doesn't really make sense in his brain that this man was Dio's source of ire for so long.

Perhaps that's just pleasantries. As he takes his hand with a firm grip, making sure that his claws do not cause him any harm if even possible with a shade.]

Enrico is fine outside of such titles. [How... long it's been since someone's used his name, too. Outside of his present "roommate", anyway.] It's certainly an easy structure to spot, at the very least, makes it easy to give directions. [It's so uneasy for him to try and suss out what is wrong with this man as, currently, he just doesn't understand.]

I'm sorry for making things sound so dire on the network, but there are certain things that the entire public does not need to hear.

Enrico- then, I do insist upon Jonathan for myself. It's taken some time to adjust to such ease with first names here, but it would do no good for anyone if I were to grind my heels into older practices for no good reason.

[Jonathan quite happily floats- literally floats- dear Athena out of the way, who herself seems to think it a lovely game while he talks.

From up the stairs, there is a plaintive meow. Queen, it appears, is still upset about lacking a shoulder to ride.] Oh- Sorry Queen, but I simply don't want to risk dropping you... [He reassures back, and the response, of course, is another meow.

With a sigh, he simply presses on and smiles, carrying the conversation forward.] It makes for a rather comfortable living space, I must say- and it certainly allowed me to realize, too, just how little space one needs to truly be comfortable, I think I could perhaps easily downsize in fact, provided of course I kept aware of my ceilings! [he jokes, leading the other upstairs.

The apartment is lived in, but largely by one person it seems. Jonathan bounces between hobbies with a great deal of excitement, growing plants, making crafts, and so on, but he's tidied up some for the purpose of having a guest. A warmed tea pot is already steaming in a tea cozy, though from the looks of things the cozy is rather new.

He's not used to having to boil that with the stove.

...The shade pauses though- and turns to blink.] Certain...things? This sounds rather more serious than simply speaking of our world's religious practices- are you quite alright Enrico?

No not at all- I can certainly list the hospitals I visit with, as it isn't any singular one. It's a rather careful balance after all, I certainly doubt it would operate especially well if more than a handful took advantage.

Even the farm fields recovered themselves. To say that it were not worth it would be a greater lie than any could ever tell.

Many throughout scripture have put themselves in danger, have been themselves in the line of fire for the sake of their beliefs and for the sake of the Lord Himself.

But the understanding is that afterward one reaches Heaven in doing so. That is the expectation for doing such a thing. What is to say that something like this does not happen here again when that ending can be carelessly thrown to the side as death is in this place?
