BIO: Hello! My name is Jonathan Joestar- I'm presently taking a few courses for study here to make up for lost time. I'm quite excited to meet with all of you! :)
Continued from that thread
Let's get going then.
[It doesn't take her too long to get him back to the dorms and just quietly opening the door to her room. She's muttering something under her breath in who knows what language and Stone Free's showing up again to just gather one of the fluffier blankets in her room to bring back.
Hope Jonathan likes being a goddamned bat burrito.]
That better?

His heart isn't in it however, so he doesn't say anything else. Instead he finds himself more openly 'zoning out' as they move, finding himself regaining awareness in time to be a 'bat burrito'.
...
He finds himself reminded of when he was taken in by the Speedwagon Foundation, and they'd assumed he was a more properly animal bat, which required such things as soft fluffy blankets to make everything seem much nicer and safer.
Admittedly, it has the same effect on a 'human' bat.] Oh-
It wasn't necessary, but it is rather nice, [he mutters a little bashfully, half burrowed in the fabric.] ...Thank you, Jolyne. It's very thoughtful.
no subject
Yeah, well, sometimes I'm not as much of an asshole as I seem. [She's huffing softly to herself at just that simple sentence, setting him down to be a burrito in a blanket nest, that works at least. And she can still see him and talk if he wants.]
This whole thing's fucked up though, you know?
no subject
...It seems there's...quite a lot that I don't know about all of this. 'This whole thing', [he adds with a soft chuckle.]
no subject
I don't know much more than you do, probably. All I was told was that it was going to cause the end of the world if not stopped and that everything would be set right if I came here and helped fix it. [Not that she knows exactly what they meant by "everything would be set right". She assumes that her record is altered, that she won't have to hide away. But it could also just as easily be that she's dragged into hunting after it's done with no choice in the matter.
She's not too fond of it.]
no subject
[The words 'radience bomb' ring in his mind, and Jonathan swallows.]
...I had expected to be fighting things to stave off the end, because I knew how, and had done so in the past. ...have they really enlisted...
[He doesn't finish the statement. The very way Jolyne was taken here after all implies foul play involved- a ticket from an otherwise horrid cell for a far more gilded one, no doubt. Jolyne at least was an adult, not too much younger than himself in mind though.
There were children here.
There were many children here.
There...] ...
no subject
But she's huffing out a soft breath and shifting around to curl in on herself, somehow managing to find a position to still watch him even while doing so.]
I don't know how they'd fix anything, the only thing they could do is delete my entire criminal record. But then I wouldn't really exist anymore meaning... [She's trailing off with a frown, this wasn't something she'd actually considered before.]
That I'd be stuck to their whims, as I wouldn't legally exist. [That's not exactly how it works and is an extreme, but Jolyne always did tend to go to the extreme ends of a situation.]
no subject
....] ...That... ...That isn't a proper way to help anyone, [He mutters quietly, an edge of anger actually making its way into those words. He hadn't given it enough thought, he thinks to himself. He hadn't given enough thought at all, and it all feels very unsettling and corrupt, frankly.
He hopes it isn't that way. He wants to hope it isn't that way- no, he needs it not to be.
The more they dwell on this, the more pessimistic it's going to feel, he fears.] ...I won't let that happen, if they even try, [He ultimately declares without really thinking.] I simply can't.
no subject
If they just let me go or some shit with some money to be comfortable, I guess it'd kinda be helping. [It really wouldn't, Jolyne, oh my god.
She really has no idea what's really planned for her, but she's fairly certain the idea is to keep her under their thumb to use as an agent of sorts to deal with Stand users in particular. Her father won't be around forever and she's, unfortunately, the youngest of the Joestar line as far as she's aware.]
Dunno how much you could actually do, dude. Some of the Stands and shit in the family are more dangerous than you might think.
no subject
And yet apparently, at least if what he's been told has any truth to it, there's scarcely anyone left practicing the art at all.
...
It's strange.
He would have thought he'd be more worried about the end of the world, rather than his other relatives.] ...I suppose they are not ones for talking, are they...

Didn't know if bats had any particular sensitivity to the real things so went with this instead.
I read that blue hyacinths meant something about being sincere and making peace. Don't know a ton about floriography so if that's wrong it ain't my fuck up, just know that's what I'm trying to say here.
It ain't a good excuse but I was on edge about shit before the garbage we got into. Shouldn't have taken it out on you I guess.
Maverick
(Jolyne's asshole friend)
[Also included in the envelope is a watercolor bookmark painted with a somewhat abstract faint blue hyacinth and detailed lightly with white and gold inks. Nothing too extravagant, but enough that Jonathan can easily pick up on the fact that the punk with a foul mouth put the effort in.]

A beautiful piece of art,
he's seeing you at thanksgiving buddy]Whenever the Gio thread is
There's apparently another Joestar that just showed the fuck up and he's saying something about that Dio dude being his dad???? And he has the same birthmark we do, though????
no subject
Tapped the screen.
Read his messages.
Choked-
Read it again.
Choked again, and then quietly, with feeling, laid back on the mattress to say-] ..........oh dear.
[But anyway he'll be around once he figures out how to get his door open, thanks.]
A good few days after they first met, in the afternoon/evening
[It might be unfair to test him but... would the other respond? He knew it was stupid to think he'd have his phone on him at all times, but he wanted to see if it would end up ignored, or left off until much later.]
gio plz
Well it doesn't matter at least, because the minute Jonathan Would be able to be at the dorm again, there Is an answer.]
Giorno?
I do apologize for the delay! I can't carry the phone with me unfortunately, as it's a little bit larger than I am.
I was told there are certain watches that can be used to connect to them? I should see if I can't get a hold of one...regardless.
Is anything the matter? If you need me to be somewhere on the campus, simply say the word, and I should be able to get there!
He wants to know it's real~ <s>even though he's terrified that it isn't</s>
No, no. It's okay.
I know the phones are large, and a bat your size wouldn't be able to take it with them. I can see if I can find a way to get you a watch that works.
Nothing is the matter. I just
want to know you will answerwanted to know if you'd tell me about your family. Is that alright? I'm sorry if it isn't. You can say no.[It might take a bit of work to nick enough money for one of those fancy watches, but he was sure he could do so. Then Jonathan could have a way to respond to anyone, not only him, without having to fuss with his phone.]
no subject
Jonathan on that note, stares at the reply, and after a short moment begins typing his own.]
It's more than alright! Though I am not sure how much I can truly offer. When I was growing up, it was very much just myself and my father for a time- and then shortly thereafter, Dio...
We could perhaps ask Jolyne to join us for such a talk? But even still, from what she has shared, she hasn't actually met any of our other relatives beyond a great grandson of mine (and of course, her own father for that matter).
It shames me to say it, but for all that we apparently have a number of relatives, they are all quite a mystery to me.
no subject
Actually, Babbo, I meant the family you knew. Your father, and if you are willing, Dio too? Jolyne said something about things starting from your time, and... I'd like to understand where I came from a bit more. I mean I am half Japanese, and you are English, right? Yet I grew up in Italy.
It's alright if you don't want to though, or if you'd rather wait and have Jolyne there, if she wants to know too.
no subject
I would love to actually :0 Do you think we should have Jolyne with us? While I am sure she would also be interested, I do understand if you would rather just us for something like this...
I imagine it will be very interesting either way, as I have found that even England has changed considerably in the time I have been gone.
There also seems to be a lot I simply did not know about in my birth country :[ But that is perhaps better for a different talk?
no subject
Things do change, even our understanding of the larger world around us, as we grow up.
At least, that's what I've noticed.
It would be very interesting, and I'd love to know the kind of life that made you who you are.
no subject
(They certainly do change quite a bit- certain countries did not even exist, in my time...)
Very well- I shall send her a message then, unless you wish to do so yourself?
no subject
Thank you. For being willing to talk about it. I am sure realizing you have a son who's... not that much younger than you are, at least at heart, isn't an easy thing to handle. So thank you, for being so kind.[It seems like he's taking a while to type his response, or at least longer than most his other responses had taken.]
I agree, getting to know more about the family is very important to me.
I think it would be better coming from you Babbo. She doesn't know me as well as she knows you, and that might feel odd if I offered.
no subject
I'll ask her then- at the very least however, you can count on us being able to converse about it together!
