[As he thanks her for his gifts she chuckles.]
Well, Jonathan, it would be very beyond the pale for me to forget your birthday. You truly did enjoy the journal then? I wasn't sure if it would be correct, though Giorno and I scoured quite a few places in Bavan to be sure you received appropriate gifts.
[She doesn't make mention of whether or not Giorno himself has yet visited his father. Considering everything regarding that alternate world, she knows he's been particularly introverted.]

Do you mean to say that this is from Giorno as well however? I must write him immediately if that is the case! I had hoped to speak with him sooner, but with how upsetting I imagine things were for a time after we returned, I wanted to give him a chance to recover...
[Of course, Jonathan himself didn't think the living situation itself was unpleasant, but he can only imagine that it was disorienting. ...It certainly was for him anyway.]
no subject
No, no. He has his own gift for you. But as he's been feeling somewhat poorly, he hasn't yet delivered it. Our poor boy.
[Whatever that strange experience had been, it had not been entirely unpleasant (even if Erina had awoken someone annoyed with Jonathan's dreamtime vigilantism). She sighed softly and pressed her lips to Jonathan's briefly.]
When he's up for it, I am sure he will come as quickly as possible for a visit. We spoke a bit about things earlier.

[He apparently feels quite strongly about this. Or at least, strongly upset- people are sad...]

Though, I do admit if we hadn't heard from him a day later, I was going to go and make sure he was well.
[Specifically kicking in the door of his room, but that was neither here nor there. He'd contacted them, he was safe.]

[Gentle?? Are his letters not gentle??] ...Should I...not be writing then?
[He's rather lost now!!!]

In that other world, he said he isn't very good at showing caring emotions. I worry that we come on too strong, sometimes, in our affection for Giorno.
no subject
...He did appear quite strained at times while I spoke to him there, yes...
But then how best to balance such a letter? [He ponders aloud, frowning at the floor. He loves him a lot!!! But he certainly doesn't want to be overwhelming...]

[Erina paused in her thought, pursing her lips.]
I do know he has a birthday in less than a fortnight; perhaps we can find him a suitable gift. He did seem to like the cloak I sewed for him.

...I know that he is quite fond of wildlife- plant and animal alike...
I could perhaps prepare some sketches to be framed? [That's soft right? That's a softer care?]
no subject
[If she never looked at gold thread again, it would be too soon. Unfortunately their boy had a flair for the dramatic, plant or not.]
Will you help me? After we celebrate your natal day?
no subject
I- Of course I shall! I can start im-
[wait] ...My birthday?
[..............................] OH!
no subject
Yes, yours!
I thought we might go and get something good for dinner, and then decide on whatever you would like to do. What do you say, Jojo?
no subject
Rubbing it, he smiles all the same.]
That sounds marvelous, Erina! Though I shall have to consider what may well be occurring throughout this place during that particular date...
[He fears it shall be foggy on his birthday. ...cork birthday...]
no subject
[Erina chuckled.]
I made sure not to give you your gifts early, as I was tempted to.

Today!?
[WH-] Have I truly lost track of our calendar so easily!?

[A concerning outlook!] ...Though I must think quickly then, I fear, for that time may not last...but what to do then...
no subject
[A valid and thoughtful suggestion, in her opinion.]
And if you are cold, well, I shall simply wrap myself around you. Like a fuzzy little scarf.

A long-tailed Lancelot, or perhaps Lancelette?

[She looks up at Jonathan and raises an eyebrow.]
What happened to him in the later tales? Lancelot, I mean.
