Merely having greater care in your own wellbeing does not mean you do not care about the lives of others. Nor does it mean that they carry a lesser weight. If you do not care in yourself then you cannot care for anyone else, so by that definition you should put your own needs before others so you are capable of helping them.

Though that is not what I was trying to say. I am saying to think about the people around you: the people that care about you and to think about how they may feel about your actions. How what you may do will impact them and if it is still something you should be doing. While we have control over ourselves, what we do will still impact those around us.

Particularly given this losing parts of yourself after dying, I would say it's even more important that you keep that in mind. Because without your memories, your lived experiences, are you truly still the same person?
